Introduction
A K-type thermocouple, also known as a chromel-alumel thermocouple, is a cost-effective metal thermocouple. Its cathode (designated as JP) is composed of pure iron, while its anode (designated as JN) is made of a copper-nickel alloy. Often referred to simply as "Kang Tong," its chemical composition consists of 55% copper, 45% nickel, along with minor but crucial additions of manganese, cobalt, and iron. Despite its nickname, it differs from other copper-nickel alloys such as copper-nickel-chromium (Kang Tong) and cannot be substituted for EN or TN thermocouples.
